Life Story

My long walk with Jesus Christ, my savior, began at eleven. Credit must be given to dedicated teachers like Mr. Vt Clark (Junior boys SS class), Mrs. Wilson (Sunday night BTU), and many women (3 weeks VBS every summer). I made a public profession that Jesus was my savior before my church, Ballast Point Baptist Church in Tampa.

I was baptized at lake Platt by my pastor. My family moved to another area of town, and I immediately got involved in that church's youth ministry. After graduation from high school, I went to the University of Tampa for one year before enlisting in the U.S. Coast Guard in October of 1955, and a year later, I married my high school sweetheart.

I decided to make the Coast Guard my career. After four years of service, my wife Pat decided to follow Jesus. She was Baptised at Mason Boro Baptist Church, and now our family was complete in Jesus Christ!

While assigned at Coast Guard headquarters in Washington, DC, we were members at Riverview Baptist, and in 1972 I was ordained as a Deacon. That call to serve God and the church made me a much stronger

Christian.

More learning and experience as a Deacon continues each day, and I know God expects me to share the gospel with others as I travel this life with Pat at my side. We are a Christian team that loves serving God and others.

Hope for FBC Groveland

Pat and I love serving at FBC Groveland. This church is warm and friendly and has an opportunity to make a difference in Groveland and the world. My hope for FBC Groveland is to continue to see people trust Jesus as I did at a young age. Following Jesus has made my life a joy.
