Life Story
Life Story
I grew up in Groveland Florida and first put my trust in Jesus when I was seven years old. My family was always a part of a local church and very involved. I grew up loving church and feeling like it was a safe place where I was loved.
At the end of my high school years, I began to really start struggling with what I believed. I started believing that I was only a Christian because of my family and that everything I had believed about God was wrong. I was seeing so many people I had looked up to deconstruct their faith and it sent me into a tailspin.
Through the end of high school and all throughout college I started working through my own doubts and fears. The Lord graciously opened my eyes to his truth and the logic behind faith through various mentors and peers. After struggling through various difficult questions and finding truth in scripture, my faith became stronger and more concrete than ever before.
Going through the process of deconstructing and then reconstructing my faith made me passionate about helping others to know why they can believe the truths found in scripture and giving them the tools and resources to understand what they believe.
After college, I decided to move back home to be closer to family. My husband Justin and I had met in Life Group the summer before I moved to college and even from far away I kept tabs on the cute guy who loved to serve the church. When I moved back to Groveland and rejoined life group we quickly became friends and started dating in December of 2019. People say “when you know you know” and we knew, so 10 short months later we were married in September of 2020.
While we were dating we were attending separate churches and decided when we got engaged that we would find a new church to call home together. I never anticipated FBC Groveland being that place (and even multiple times said it wouldn’t be) but the Lord surprised us both and we are so glad he did.
In February of 2021, Justin and I had the opportunity to start serving as Student Ministry leaders at FBC Groveland. We had no idea what to expect but getting to disciple students and teaching them the truth of the Gospel and the freedom we have in Jesus Christ was exciting to both of us. I love that I get to be a small part of the amazing things God has planned for our students’ lives and I am excited for the opportunity to continue growing my faith alongside theirs.
Hope for FBC Groveland
My hope for FBC Groveland is that we would be a church that has a deep, sincere love for God, has a gospel-driven passion to make disciples, and a heart that is open to the wisdom and guiding of the Holy Spirit. In all of this, I hope we are a church known for our love of God, for each other, and for everyone around us.
